"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go..." - Dr. Seuss, Oh! The Places You'll Go!

salomon days

the rubber soles of my salomon outdoor shoes have given way a few months back. these shoes have been a constant companion on trips, both in and out of the country. it's been scratched here and there, soaked in all sorts of elements and environments. and because of these things, it has reminded me of the numerous trips i've had.

it's been hard to let go of such a comfortable pair and the fact that salomon has pulled out of the country means that it's even harder to get a new one. but in the last month or so, i've seen a very good replacement: a merrel amphibian. so shoe me if i've switched allegiances. the old one has outlived its usefulness.

but before this one finds itself in the dumpster, i give it one last ode.

Lex,

my Salomon has been "smiling" and revealing its inside last year so shes been on the shoes shelf for a while-- I've replaced her with a tnf. But I cannot even think of putting her in the dumpster. I can't bronze her because she already is.

Nice ode :O) made me love my Salomon more hehehe

rose, thanks.

daisy, actually i might get an injury if i keep using these shoes. the soles are worn, the cushion is showing degeneration and let's not even talk about the foam. oh well, love the shoes but i need to let them go...

barry, san yun? hehehe! i really hate tarlac. not because of the work we did there but it's not an exciting place -- plains, plains and more plains. passing by tarlac when going up to baguio is such a pain in the a**.
